Leafing Through Pansini

Monday, 1 June 2026 at 8 pm

The Upper Floor Gallery / Leafing Through Pansini

Marking the centenary of the birth of Dr Mihovil Pansini, the Cultural and Information Centre presents the exhibition “Leafing Through Pansini” in The Upper Floor Gallery.

Open to the public from 1 to 4 June, the exhibition presents selected fragments of archival material - diary and working notes, drawings, sketches and drafts, synopses, shooting scripts, and other documents - shaped into the video(cast) Leafing Through Pansini. It also includes two films made before the founding of the legendary Genre Film Festival (GEFF), both produced in 1955, and dedicated to the visual artists Josip Vaništa (Life of Things) and Miljenko Stančić (Quiet Evenings).

Prior to the exhibition opening on 1 June at 8 pm, Surogatkino at the Cultural and Information Centre will screen Siesta (1958) from 7 pm, Pansini's favourite film among his own oeuvre, and Zero for Conduct (Zéro de conduite, 1933) by Jean Vigo, selected from his list of ten favourite films.

The exhibition remains open until 4 June.
