We invite you to the opening of Ida Loher’s solo exhibition “A Daily Moment of Beauty”, on Thursday, 18 June 2026 at The Upper Floor Gallery KIC (5 Preradovićeva Street) at 8 pm. The exhibition is held as part of the programme of the Meštrović Pavilion Visiting and will remain open until 8 July 2026.
The exhibition concept is interpreted by curator Ivana Meštrov: "Ida Loher's recent work, or more precisely the continuously evolving project A Daily Moment of Beauty, is based on the gesture of a time-out: a pause, a break, an interruption in the linear time of productivity. Within the media of print and text that the artist employs in her daily ritual of slowing down, this interruption appears not as a moment but as a trace (a groove), an imprint, a thought, a pause in a recurring process.
The slow act of recording, within this daily process of inscription and transmission, does not stabilise the image, but rather differentiates it. Each day carries a deviation - a slight shift, a recorded moment - through which time becomes visible as a discontinuity. The artist's book, as the final product, thus functions as an apparatus that does not reproduce the same all over again, but rather produces difference through repetition.
Through the lens of Ida Loher, this shift can also be read as a question of orientation: what the artistic process allows to emerge and what remains on its periphery. Through repetition and minimal variations, the work does not accumulate images of everyday life, but rather develops the conditions of their visibility and importance for each individual. It establishes a balance in the increasingly frenetic rhythm of contemporary life and social tendencies."
