Dalibor Barić, a multi-disciplinary Zagreb-based artist and director who builds worlds like no other with collage, found footage and visual chaos, has returned with a film that is as elusive as a dream – and intentionally so.
‘Dream On / Dream Off’ doesn't tell a story. It is the story itself, and one that begins the moment you close your eyes.

Barić is the director and the author of the screenplay, concept and editing, while generative artificial intelligence was used as one of the main tools for creating the visual material.
Dalibor Barić (1974, Zagreb) is a musician, multimedia artist and film director who builds animations from found objects, footage and collage techniques that are unlike anything we are used to seeing. His feature debut, ‘Accidental Luxuriance of the Translucent Watery Rebus’ (2020), was screened at the Annecy festival, included on the Oscar longlist for animated film and shown at the Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb – because it was too alive for the cinema, and too cinematic for the gallery.
